Vipassana Meditation Master Acharavadee Wongsakon
Advanced technologies in this internet era make us think we are incredibly smart. In fact, these things lead us into illusion even more. We are deluded about appearance and status so much that we have to depend on them. Such delusion and modern technologies cannot help us escape from karmic consequences at all. Instead, they lead us to do bad deeds easier and faster, only at fingertips on the keyboard. And we also lose control of our minds by letting the internet drag us aimlessly until we become superficial people who wish to get success easily without making efforts. While the karmic retribution is taking its toll, we have no meritorious power to protect ourselves. We are misled to give money for good things or merit in return, not for the sake of giving and never stop doing sins. We praise the outside appearance but overlook the essence.
You have to claim the right to control your mind, do not let kilesa (impurities) lure you into committing bad deeds. Be aware of it and resist the darkness inside so that you do not have to live to repay your karmic debts. Keep destroying the impurities that are clinging your mind like cancer by practicing Vipassana meditation.
First of all, you have to be firm and resolute to abstain from all wrongdoings and ill will, otherwise no matter how much you cultivate merits, karmic consequences from bad deeds will relentlessly stop the merits from fruiting. Thus, you have to set your resolution in accumulating good causes.
Observe the precepts and maintain gratitude in your mind. These are the strongest shields that protect the mind from all dangers so nothing can destroy your mind. Live a life in a sustainable way of prosperity until attaining Nirvana.
